Special Education
As the parent of a child who has a special need, you strive to provide your child with the best in biomedical and traditional therapies so that your child will have every opportunity to improve and develop.  Another important component in your child's development is their academic education. To a large degree, parents depend on the expertise of the local public school system.  In the United States of America every child has the right to a free and appropriate education according to the law through the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

The information provided in this section will help you learn about the IEP process, what services are really available to your child through the public school system according to the law and how to attain an appropriate education for your child.
